For this weeks Compassion In Action feature we’d like to introduce you to George Lorenz who is the board chair for Homes of Light and the executive customer team manager for Merk & Co.
George explains his involvement with Homes of Light by saying:
“The most rewarding part of my role is that I’ve had the opportunity to interact with some of the veterans that we have served, and all they want is respect. All they want is a purpose. That’s really all they’re asking for, and I think we should be able to provide resources to help them achieve at least those two things.”
He continues by explaining:
“I don’t think there’s anything more important than supporting our veterans, and I think that’s been noted by many people in politics, the business environment, etc. If it weren’t for our veterans, we would not be the greatest and one of the healthiest countries in the world, and I’m just glad to be able to give back just a little and show my support for them.”
George has served on the board for Homes of Light since its inception in 2010. When he’s not working or volunteering, he loves enjoying the grilled octopus at The Optimist in West Midtown.
